Update on M6 after 'verge cutting' between Junction 32 for Blackpool's M55 to Lancaster caused huge delays
National Highways have confirmed this morning that all lanes are fully open as the works have now been completed.
Maintenance has now been completed on the M6 from where it meets the M55 to Lancaster and traffic is expected to return to normal today.

The works caused delays of more than an hour yesterday and led to miles of tailbacks after National Highways closed one lane in each direction between junction 32 for the M55 and junction 33 for Galgate.
The agency said the lane closure was scheduled to continue “well into Tuesday evening”, and advised drivers should expect to face further delays on the motorway today.
But National Highways have confirmed this morning that all lanes are fully open as the works have now been completed.
The work carried out was described as ‘routine maintenance’, including verge cutting, drain clearage and barrier safety checks. National Highways said the works were not related to a motorhome crash at around 4.15am.
At 3pm on Monday, there were delays of over an hour heading northbound on the M6 and around 30 minutes heading southbound due to the lane closures.
