“The application seeks consent for the demolition of the existing convenience building and former meeting room, and the erection of a new two storey dwelling,” a design and access statement lodged by agent selfbuildplans said.

“The new dwelling has been sympathetically designed to ensure a stylish and focal building, and sits well within the constraints associated with the site.”

If approved, two car parking spaces will be built, a new rear garden created with grass, flower bed, trees, and paving, with paving also planned for the front of the house.

The home, which will also feature a study, several ensuites and shower rooms, will be finished in traditional red/brown brickwork, documents also revealed.

A bus stop closeby would also be moved slightly, if planners agree.

selfbuildplans added: “The redevelopment of the site is seen to be a planning gain as it will remove the existing rundown buildings and visually enhance the amenity of the area whilst at the same time contribute to the shortfall in housing supply within the borough and therefore should be approved without delay.”
