Knifeman who injured adult shop worker tasered

A man who used a knife to cut a shop worker was tasered by police before being arrested.

Police were called just after 5pm yesterday to reports of an attempted robbery on Coronation Street. A man had entered adult entertainment store Heaven An Hell with a knife and struggled with a member of staff, who suffered a laceration to his hand.

The man then fled empty-handed and hid in a flat on nearby Vance Road, where he was located by police.

He armed himself with a knife and refused to comply with police demands, and was subsequently tasered by officers.

A 25-year-old man from Blackpool was arrested on suspicion of robbery and currently remains in custody.
