We went for an early look at the in-house processes that go into creating Pleasure Beach’s annual Halloween event, Journey to Hell.
Pictures show how content creators from all over the UK got to immerse themselves in the horror and learn how to become a scare actor, also getting a glimpse at how costumes and props are made in house.
Pleasure Beach has revamped its Halloween event for this season to make it the biggest edition in the event's history. With an increased number of actors, costumes and new scare mazes for this year, the Fright Academy was designed to shed light on the months of extensive work taking place in-house to create the experience.
Take a look below.
Journey to Hell is Pleasure Beach Resorts annual Halloween event. First beginning in 2019, each year has found new ways to grow, and in 2026 is set to receive its biggest revamp to date.
This year’s Journey to Hell is being transformed into a full-day experience. For the first time, admission will no longer require separate evening tickets, instead guests can purchase a regular eTicket offering 12 hours on park (10am - 9pm).
Three brand new scare mazes have been specially curated for the event: The Veil, Deadline and Eternal Abyss, which has been inspired by Pleasure Beach’s newest ride, Aviktas.
Joining the lineup is also 5 different themed horror zones, including an area designed for families and children.
From morning until early evening, Pleasure Beach will provide daytime thrills across the entire park, including family-friendly Halloween fun and a brand-new family scare maze, as well as the usual adrenaline-filled coasters and rides.
At 6pm, the ‘South Park’ area of Pleasure Beach will close, and ‘North Park’ transforms as the main scare zones and late-night Scare Mazes awaken.
Immersive live entertainment will take over the park, alongside night rides on Aviktas, Launch Pad, ICON, Avalanche, Infusion, Derby Racer, Alice in Wonderland and Ghost Train.
