With comedian Josh Widdicombe having been announced as one of the new hosts alongside Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe, here we take a look back at when he moonlighted as a Blackpool Gazette reporter.
Willis, Widdicombe, and Radebe will host the show as a trio in a first for the flagship entertainment programme. The news was shared on the show’s Instagram page with the caption: “It’s official…September 2026.”
The new line-up will take over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who announced their departure from the programme in October 2025.
And new presenter Josh Widdicombe has pre-existing ties to the Fylde coast. Back in 2023, the Blackpool Gazette was front and centre of a new Sky show featuring comedians Widdicombe and Nish Kumar.
The Gazette was one of six Iconic Media titles to feature in ‘Hold The Front Page’, in which the comedians went in search of a front page byline at various local newspapers. Their stint on the Fylde coast saw them try out a vox pop on the Comedy Carpet, chase down Boris Johnson, and test their survival skills at Fleetwood Nautical Campus.
