'Investigation underway' following Blackpool flat fire

Three fire engines from South Shore, St Annes and Blackpool rushed to the flat in Burlington Road West at around 2.40pm yesterday (December 7).

Firefighters equipped with six breathing apparatus doused the flames using two water jets before using a ventilation unit.

One casualty was given first aid by firefighters before being assessed by paramedics, the fire service said.

An investigation into the cause was opened, it added.
