13 whimsical photos inside UK's first knitting and crochet hotel seeking yarn-loving new owner

Take a look at some of the quirky and colourful knitted decor inside Blackpool’s knitting and crochet hotel, as the owners seek a crafty replacement to carry on their successful business.

Animal head trophies and miniature cactus plants are just some of the knitted curios on display inside the Westcliffe Hotel.

Guests are encouraged to share knitting patterns, take part in crafty workshops or just sit back and lose themselves in their own yarn projects, in the much-loved guest house on King Edward Avenue, Blackpool.

Paula and Simon Chew are retiring after 22 years and are hoping to find new owners to continue running the unique business.

Paula Chew, co-owner of the Westcliffe Hotel on King Edward Avenue, Blackpool, has made public her hopes that the hotel will be taken over by a fellow knitting enthusiast.

The Westcliffe has appeared on many different TV shows over the years, including Countryfile, as well as local and national radio programmes and international travel guides. It is currently on the market with bids starting at £170,000.

“The guests are absolutely lovely and they are very loyal customers. It would be lovely if we could sell to somebody who will go along with that,” Paula added. “Hopefully, one of those knitters will see this as an opportunity to carry on providing knitting holidays to people who really want to come away.”

Further details about the sale can be found at the Pattinson property website here. Anyone wanting more information can also visit www.westcliffe-knitting.co.uk.
