He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by District Judge David Scanlon, at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Ogden was ejected from the Toast Bar, Wood Street, St Annes, on June 7 in the early hours. Outside, police were dealing with another incident and Ogden was arrested after making unhelpful comments.

Malcolm Cartwright, defending, told the judge Ogden said he was only in the bar 10 minutes and was not given a reason for being ejected by the door staff.

Mr Cartwright added: “He was annoyed with the door staff. He opened his mouth to police and spent a night in a cell.”
