'When stars collide' - Iconic Funny Girls give special Blackpool welcome to Winter Gardens cast of Barnum
“As the photo was taken beneath the lights of the newly unveiled Funny Girls stage, there was only one thought in everyone’s minds — when stars collide, a little bit of magic happens.”
Two of the UK’s most dazzling casts shared a truly special moment in Blackpool last night when the touring company of Barnum paid a visit to the iconic Funny Girls after finishing their own performance in the resort.
After taking their final bows, members of the Barnum cast headed across town to experience the spectacular Funny Girls cabaret show, watching the high-energy finale from the audience before being invited onto the venue’s brand-new main stage runway.
In a wonderful meeting of theatrical worlds, performers from both productions came together for a celebratory photo, creating a unique “when stars collide” moment as two talented casts shared stories, laughter and mutual admiration for each other’s work.

Jason Bland, co-owner of Funny Girls said: “The chance encounter brought together performers from two very different but equally vibrant productions, highlighting Blackpool’s enduring reputation as one of the UK’s great entertainment destinations.
“With Barnum bringing its larger-than-life circus magic to the town and Funny Girls continuing to wow audiences with its spectacular cabaret extravaganza, the evening was a fitting celebration of live entertainment at its very best.
