Ice dancing champ Dan opens RSPCA fun day

Animal magic all the way as big crowds flock to Longview Centre for activity-packed fund-raising event.

Furry friends and their owners took part in the annual RSPCA open day.

Three-time Dancing on Ice champion Dan Whiston opened the event and took time to throw a few treats to pets. The Trustees of the Longview Animal Centre, in Old Tom’s Lane, Stalmine, and the Deputy Mayor of Wyre Coun Ron Greenhough also attended.

Events throughout the activity-packed day included a mini dog show with seven classes, family stalls and the opportunity for people to look at the animals available for re-homing.

A spokeswoman for the RSPCA said the event was very well attended.
