I can’t wait to welcome the community to our exciting new Trinity Hospice shop

Trinity Hospice is set to open a new charity shop in Great Eccleston, offering pre-loved fashion, homeware, books and gifts with all proceeds going to support hospice care across the Fylde Coast.

Trinity Hospice has announced it will open a new charity shop in Great Eccleston bringing its collection of pre-loved fashion, homeware, books and gifts.

The shop will be located on West End taking over the premises formerly occupied by Pollen Floral Design.

The new store will be the charity’s 34th across the Fylde Coast each helping to raise vital funds to support people with palliative illnesses.

Trinity Hospice provides care for patients in the hospice, hospitals, care homes, or in the comfort of their own homes.

The charity’s shops currently generate over £1 million towards the £14 million annual running costs needed to maintain its services.

Paul Guest, Head of Retail at Trinity Hospice, said: “It’s a really exciting development for our shops.

“We’ve found the perfect space to showcase our amazing items, all donated by our very generous community - in incredible style for the people of Great Eccleston to really get involved in supporting local hospice care.

“Everything sold in this shop will go towards providing exceptional care for people who need it in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and we can’t wait to open up in the heart of this beautiful village.”

While the official opening date has not yet been announced the hospice is already seeking volunteers to help run the store.

Roles will include manning the till, supporting customers, preparing the shop floor, dressing windows and sorting through donated items.

Paul Guest, said: “Our shops provide our community with the perfect chance to meet new people, use their skills for good and be part of a committed team of staff and volunteers to make a difference to one of our area’s biggest charities.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who has some time to give - even if it’s just a couple of hours each week.

“Being a volunteer is such a rewarding thing to do and we’re looking forward to welcoming new friends in Great Eccleston.”

In addition to its retail expansion, Trinity Hospice continues to run its annual Christmas Tree Collection service across Blackpool, Wyre, and Fylde - a simple, eco-friendly way for the community to support local hospice care.

Volunteers collect real trees each January, recycling them responsibly and turning them into mulch or using them to restore coastal sand dunes.

Last year’s scheme raised over £31,000 with all donations going directly to fund patient care.
