Hundreds attend Blackpool business event

Hundreds of firms and individuals from across the county gathered in Blackpool to do a bit of business.

It was the third Blackpool Business Expo event at the Village Resort, off East Park Drive, and the biggest yet with a range of networking opportunities, seminars and displays.

Among the exhibitors were Viva Blackpool, The Genting, HLS of Thornton, Lancashire Wine School, OffiGo, Blackpool Unlimited Boost Business Lancashire Spire, Little Touches and Danbro.

Organiser Nichola Howard, of Launch Events North West, said: “It has been the best yet and busy all day.

“I think most businesses were very busy networking but the seminars offered some insight into some important business issues.

“We have already had people wanting to book for next year and it is great support for the economy."

Coun Mark Smith said: “It is great for Blackpool businesses to have a chance to meet others and see what skills and services are on offer in the area, to pick up new ideas and to see what training is available.

"Sometimes in business you are so busy, you don't get chance to meet other business owners and events like this allow you to meet other people and make new contacts."

Alex Lett from Thornton based high level work and cleaning specialists HLS said: "It has been very good, great for networking with quality connections."

Colin Burbage from Lancashire Wine School said: "I find this Blackpool Business Expo is always very good. It has been steadily busy all day. I have had lots of contacts to follow up later."

Hotel consultant Tom Metcalf from Little Touches said: "It has been very busy and we have been talking to many potential clients. These sort of events are great for allowing businesses to make new connections, help each other and develop business generally in the area."
