Blackpool Coastal Housing (BCH) along with New Charter Group, is the first organisation in the country to achieve Housing Quality Network’s (HQN) Accreditation for Lettings.

To achieve the accreditation, BCH completed an assessment relating to seven core issues in which they met all of the demands and in some areas even exceeded the criteria.

These included the way it looks after properties once they become empty including repairs, how houses are allocated to people, value for money and how new tenancies are handled.

BCH chief executive John Donnellon said: “Blackpool Coastal Housing applied for the HQN accreditation to ensure that we provide a good quality, value for money service to our customers.

“The award is seen by all of the staff in the lettings team as recognition for their hard work and the support they have provided to our customers over the past few years.

“Our customers will know the service provided by the lettings team has been assessed by HQN and that we provide a ‘best in class’ service.”

The accreditation is valid for three years.

An annual assessment will be completed to ensure the team maintains current standards.
