The drop-in session will be held at the hospital on Tuesday from 4 to 6pm and will inform new Fylde coast residents about the health services available to them.

The event, which will take place in Room 6 of the Education Centre, focuses on staff and their families who have moved to the Fylde coast area from overseas and are still trying to adjust to life in Britain.

Sharon Vickers, practice development sister at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, said: “In order to look after our staff we want to ensure their families are well supported too.

“This will help us with staff retention and ensure that we have a happy and well-adjusted workforce.

“For overseas staff
this can help with cultural changes as well as practical advice about English
classes, accommodation and education.”

She added that the new event is open to anyone who has recently started working at Blackpool Victoria Hospital – regardless of whether they come from overseas or not.

She said: “We hope this session will be helpful
to all new starters who
are locating to this area and may need advice about accessing support services in the area.”
