Trinity Hospice and Brian House children’s hospice is hosting a Colour Splash run this weekend - inviting runners to race on the beach while being covered in every colour of paint.

Chief executive David Houston and medical director Dr Susan Salt agreed to be put up for target practice ahead of Saturday’s event, giving Brian House children chance to join in the fun.

Shirley Morgan, communications manager at the charity, said: “Some of the Brian House youngsters threw paint – as did one adult patients, and there were lots of staff members queuing to have a go too. The pair were really good sports.

“We are really looking forward to the event and hope it will raise lots of money for us in our 30th birthday year.”

Participants will run 5km between Starr Gate and St Annes, while being showered with coloured powder paint for the event, starting at 11am.

All 1,800 places have now been filled.
