Homes plan wins council approval

The scheme will see 15 houses built, along with 15 flats, on land at the junction of Clifton Road, Langdale Road and Newby Place.

It will be a two and three-storey development, with landscaping and vehicular access from Langdale Road to 45 parking spaces.

The site was previously occupied by the Langdale Centre, which was an adult day care centre that closed in October 2012 and was later demolished.

A design brief accompanying the planning application, lodged with Blackpool Council, says it is hoped to ‘revive the vacant site to provide high standard residential dwellings’ and ‘enhance the existing street scene’.
