He’s thrown into further turmoil when daughter Penny turns up, hoping to build bridges with the dad she’s not seen for several years.

The music of the time provides the soundtrack to a show which promises to create a slice of island life on the Fylde.

“I’m playing this guy Ross, but it’s kind of myself, and that’s the fun thing of something like this show,” David said. “It’s similar to panto and there’s a lot of freedom for me.

“I kind of bring up the issues, you know, we’re not trained to be parents or teenagers; so do you allow them to play and party - because we did, and I can’t say ‘Do as I say, not what I did’.

“It’s a fun challenge, to make the show a sing-along, entertaining night, which it’s going to be, while also telling a story about a father and daughter relationship and her coming of age in Ibiza.”

With filming for the second series of Hoff The Record having over run, he’s playing catch up with the rest of the cast, only joining rehearsals in town just last Thursday.

“I tell everybody I’m a money player, I’ll be ready when the lights and audience are; I come alive when the red light’s on the camera,” the Baywatch star said. “I’m two weeks behind with the commitments to Hoff The Record, which has been a monumental success, and have had a week to get into the show.”
