Specsavers in Blackpool has donated high visibility vests to a primary school and Rainbows and Brownies groups on the Fylde coast as part of National Road Safety Week.

Pupils at St Johns CE Primary School, on Church Street, Blackpool, and children at Cleveleys and Blackpool and Fylde Brownies and Rainbows groups, were given the 300 vests.

Store director Craig McGill said: “At this time of year with the dark mornings and nights, combined with the winter weather, it can be difficult for motorists to see pedestrians, and dusk is particularly hazardous when the children are walking home from school.

“We wanted to help increase the safety of children so offered the high visibility vests.”
