Here's how all four Fylde coast MPs voted on the Assisted Dying Bill
Here’s how all four of the Fylde coast’s MPs voted on last Friday’s Assisted Dying Bill.
All four of the Fylde coast’s MPs were in Parliament last Friday to vote on the controversial Assisted Dying Bill, which has been dividing opinions across the country since its first introduction in October 2024.
The bill passed the House of Commons in June 2025 but stalled in the House of Lords, and was reintroduced into the Commons in May 2026.
MPs voted 286 to 270- a majority of 16 - against the proposed legislation on Friday.

Fylde MP Andrew Snowden voted against the bill, following the lead of Tory leader Kemi Badenoch who recently gave Snowden a position in the Shadow Cabinet.
All three of the Fylde coast’s Labour MPs, Lorraine Beavers, Chris Webb and Cat Smith, voted in favour of the legislation.
The bill is now dead and will not continue at any stage in Parliament, meaning there will be no changes to the laws around terminally ill patients in the immediate future.
