'˜Help my son play football'

Louise Ogden, whose five-year-old Kaason has the condition and needs a frame to walk, has been told Frame Football – which puts on special sessions for the youngsters – will come to Blackpool if there’s a demand.

The 32-year-old, from Mains Lane in Poulton, said: “It would build up the strength in his legs, definitely.

“Kaason has quite a big frame because he’s not really strong at the minute, but he is slowly getting towards a smaller one.

“We have to take each day as it comes but the more exercise he does the more chance he will have of walking unaided.”

Louise, who is pregnant with her fifth child, saw an advert for Frame Football on Facebook and got in touch with founder Richard Seedhouse, who told her if there was a demand, the association could meet it.

She said: “I sent a message and asked where the closest one was and it was in Oldham, so I asked them to do one here.

“They said if they can get the kids and venue, they will come to Blackpool. I know quite a few people and they want their kids to do it as well.”

Richard said: “There is a club that is based near Manchester called CP United, and they are trying to move into Blackpool.

“We are a group of coaches, parents, and volunteers trying to get kids together so they can play games.

“Normally the teams only have four players, so it’s dead easy. We have held sessions with four, five, or six, it just doesn’t matter.”

Richard said as well as players, a venue and qualified coach with a record check and first aid badge need to come forward.

Frame Football would supply a handbook with guidance and rules, and offer a helping hand. Any team would be eligible to play in a national tournament held at the FA’s St George’s National Football Centre in Staffordshire in April.
