Haven's Marton Mere Caravan Park in Blackpool submits plans for two new takeaway restaurants

The plans come as part of Haven’s wider investment into the park.

Plans have been submitted by Haven’s Marton Mere Caravan Park to build a new 2-story fast-food restaurant to serve holidaymakers and guests.

The plans were lodged to Blackpool Council on Thursday 3 September, along with plans to construct a new 20m by 20m lobby area with a glass facade.

According to the caravan park’s planning document, the proposed plans would build one large building which would then be let out to two separate businesses, allowing the park to ‘enhance existing facilities and the customer experience by introducing two further food and beverage units to the site.’

One of the restaurants would be an undecided food and drink vendor, and the other would be a fish and chip takeaway.

The proposals also ask for a large seating area to be added outside the existing Papa Johns restaurant, with added canopies to allow for all-weather usage.

Haven have said that the proposed restaurants would sit adjacent to the Papa Johns, with a caravan sales area being moved to accommodate the construction.

Haven also confirmed that the takeaways would only be used by guests and residents, and that wider public use would not be possible.

Blackpool Council will now process the application in due course, with a decision expected sometime this Autumn.
