The Early Years Park Rangers will be hosting activities for young children, including planting sunflowers, a bouncy castle and painting sessions between 10am and 12noon.

The park, between Central Drive and Revoe Academy, is benefiting from an extensive £300,000 renovation project through a partnership between Blackpool Council and Blackpool Better Start.

“The first day of spring is a perfect day to bring everyone into the park with plenty of colour, positive messages and fun.” Said Louise Chennells, a Better Start Park Ranger.

“We want to bring families outdoors to enjoy the park together, plant sunflowers, and the children can literally spring into Spring on the bouncy castle!”

This celebration is one of a string of exciting outdoor events that the Better Start Park Rangers have lined up for Revoe.

In addition, there are upcoming consultations and events planned for Easter and an interactive booklet for youngsters to fill in as they participate in park events.

Sharon Mather, Community Development Manager for The Centre for Early Child Development, said: “This is an opportunity for families to be directly involved in the growth of Revoe Park and the Community Garden, and kick-start the beginning of Spring with an outdoor celebration.”

“It is really important to us that the community be involved in how the park takes shape, so we encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the fun and let us know what you would like to see happen at Revoe!”
