Carole Myers, of North West marketing agency Conception Marketing, said she had been impressed by the quality of applications she had seen in the Manufacturer of the Year category which her firm is sponsoring.
She said: “I have been sifting through the applications from some fantastic manufacturing businesses from across Lancashire.
“The toughest job will be getting the shortlist down to just 12 applications as there could be many more applicants facing the panel in the first round of interviews.

The awards’ judges will begin their first round of interviewing when the Best Use of IT category judges meet on May 16 at the start of a 10-day period of first round interviews.
They will select the finalists for each category who will then be visited by judging panels when the BIBAs hosts its unique ‘Judges on Tour’ second round of interviews starting on June 20.
The awards will be handed out on Friday September 16 in a glittering winners’ ceremony to be held in the Blackpool Tower ballroom.
