Pupils at a Fylde coast primary school have helped to support Lancashire Police’s STOP Means STOP road safety campaign by handing out leaflets and raising awareness.

Last week, students at St Chads Primary School in Poulton enthusiastically backed the campaign alongside police officers during the afternoon school run.

Two school ambassadors and four fellow pupils joined Road Safety Officers, PCSO Anna, two Parking Enforcement Officers, and the School Crossing Patrol Officer to help promote safer roads around the school.

Together, the group handed out leaflets to parents and pupils and highlighted the importance of safe driving, careful parking and speed limits near schools

A spokesperson for Thornton Cleveleys & Poulton Police praised the children in their efforts and thanked them for helping spread the road safety message: “The pupils were fantastic ambassadors for road safety, helping to spread the message that everyone has a role to play in keeping children safe on their journey to and from school.

“A huge thank you to all those involved for supporting this important initiative and helping to make our school community a safer place.”
