Nationally-renowned photographer famous for Fylde coast work wins Lifestyle Photographers Association awards

A photographer famous for his work on the Fylde coast and acclaimed nationally has now received an international seal of approval.

Dave Nelson has been taking pictures for national newspapers and magazines for 40 years. His photographs at fashion shows and awards evenings have been used in titles such as OK magazine.
And the images he captures of resort landmarks have defined the way the rest of the country views Blackpool. Now, Dave has seen his pictures hailed on the international stage. He has achieved international recognition in the Lifestyle Photographers Association (LSPA) awards, with four of his images receiving awards.
Dave is currently the highest ranked UK-based photographer in the contest.
The Lifestyle Pro Awards, organised by the Lifestyle Photographers Association, celebrate excellence in lifestyle portraiture across several categories including Family, Solo, Couples, Maternity, Pet Portraits, and Business Portraits.
Photographers are judged by a panel of three judges. Images selected by all three judges receive a prestigious Gold Award and 45 points, while images chosen by two judges receive 22 points. Winning photographs are showcased internationally in the association’s main galleries and featured within photographers’ professional member profiles.
David said: "Press photography has been in my blood all my working life, but I’ve really come to enjoy the more sedate and artistic world of lifestyle photography. To have won ten awards for my images after only two submissions is absolutely fantastic.
“It’s also been incredibly rewarding to have my work critiqued by some outstanding photographers and viewed worldwide. The whole thing has been a great experience and it really is an inspiration to see pictures taken by photographers from all over the world."
A spokesman for the competition said: "We proudly recognise Dave Nelson as a TOP International Lifestyle Photographer. Members holding the most content points at the end of each year are ranked as TOP Lifestyle Photographers."
