Fylde coast firms celebrate double TT success

Two Fleetwood firms are basking in the glory of a successful TT campaign on the Isle of Man.

Raceways Motorcycles and Foulds Metals both tasted victory in the legendary motorbike races across the Irish Sea.

Steve Rodgers from the Raceways Motorcycle dealership on Dock Street was celebrating after his bikes grabbed victory in the Supersport 600 races.

They were ridden by TT superstar Ian Hutchinson as part of the team CAME BPT Team Traction Control owned by music star Keith Flint from The Prodigy.

Ian who suffered horrific injuries in a crash at Silverstone in 2010 came back last year with two wins at the TTs last year and repeated his success this time for his 12th TT victory while smashing the current Supersport lap record around the Island.

Steve said: “It was a brilliant success for the two Fleetwood businesses.

“We supply the bike and three engines for the team. The first was used for practice the second developed a bit of an oil leak so to be on the safe side the third was used in the races.

“It is Raceways’s 25th anniversary this year so this was icing on the cake.

“Ian Barnes of Foulds Metals has been a big sponsor of TT racing over the years and it was great to see his sidecar team win too.”

Raceways has a 10,000 sq ft showroom plus hi-tech workshops at its purpose built site.
