Flood aid promise has little impact on Fylde
A Government scheme offering tax breaks to residents and businesses hit by flooding as a result of recent bad weather will have a “minimal” impact on the Fylde coast.
Last week, David Cameron announced funding to help councils offer council tax or business rate relief where properties have flooded due to the storms since December 1.
But a Wyre Council spokesman said: “There were only a handful of properties flooded in Wyre and, due to that, the impact of the tax relief scheme will be minimal.”

A Fylde Council spokesman said he was not aware of any properties in the borough that would qualify for the scheme.
