“He is a great kid who caught the eye from the very first time we saw him on trial with his pace. Shayden knows he has a lot a work ahead of him but now has a fantastic opportunity to step up and join the club’s professional ranks.

“We all look forward to watching him grow and continue to improve around the club’s professionals and hopefully will see him make the progression through to the first team in the future."

Morris arrived at Poolfoot from Southend United and made his first team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy, helping the Cod Army to a win over Liverpool U23s on penalties in September.

After spending the last two years in the under 18 and development squads, Morris will now be looking to push on and force his way into contention for Joey Barton's first team squad.
