Firefighters from South Shore and Blackpool were first on the scene and called in two more appliances, one from Preston as well as the aerial ladder.

The blaze was eventually brought under control and crews remained at the scene overnight. A road closure was in place.

It is not thought anyone was injured. A fire brigade spokesman said the blaze was being investigated.
