Find a loving home for friendly Derek

Derek, a lurcher cross, is on the hunt for new owners.

The four-year-old, who has been in kennels for over a year, was recently transferred back to the RSPCA centre in Stalmine.

Hannah Kirrane said: “Derek needs an experienced owner as we don’t think he has lived in a home environment before so he will need someone who is patient and understanding.

“Since coming into kennels he has learnt a few basic commands and responds well to ‘sit’ and ‘leave’.

“Derek is a very energetic boy who is very people orientated and actively seeks human attention.”

Due to being an ex-hunting dog, he does have a high prey drive so he wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats or other small animals.

Derek is fully vaccinated, wormed, neutered and micro chipped. His adoption fee is £120.
