Festival celebrates a passion for food

Foodies from across the areajoined together to celebrate their shared passion when the Fylde Artisan Food Festival made its debut at the weekend.

The Showfield at Wharles, location of the annual Vintage and Steam Fair, was the venue for the event, which aims to build on the ever-increasing popularity of food-related attractions.

Street food, pop-up dining, a chilli cook-off and craft beer and cider were among the lip-lickingly tasty treats on offer at the festival, which was held on Saturday.

As well as food, there attractions for all the family on show to keep the youngsters entertained.

The included a children’s performing arts workshops based on Disney’s Frozen movie, craft activities, giant garden games, cupcake decorating, craft making workshops, a bouncy castle, giant slides and the chance to build an insect box with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
