Fans take fight over Blackpool FC to town hall
Andy Higgins will address councillors on the issue at the next full meeting of Blackpool Council next Wednesday.
Mr Higgins, who stood as in independent candidate in Blackpool South at last year’s General Election, has been given a five minute slot at the start of the meeting, which kicks off at 6pm in the town hall.

Hide AdHe will be speaking on behalf of the Blackpool Supporters Trust.
Mr Higgins told The Gazette: “We are also writing to all the councillors to gauge their thoughts on the issue, and we have done a lot of work already with our MPs and have engaged with Gordon Marsden, Paul Maynard and Mark Menzies.
“A lot of people are upset about what has been happening at Blackpool Football Club, and we think this is an important issue.
“The council should be representing the feelings of the people they represent and we think they should have a voice on this and be heard.”

Hide AdFans have staged numerous protests against the way Blackpool FC is being run by its owners, the Oyston family, including a pitch invasion at the end of last season. There have also been court cases resulting from individual disputes between some fans and club chairman Karl Oyston.
