Family and friends pay tribute to soldier found dead at camp

Police officers found the body of Kingsman Jordan Corcoran Thursday night.

The young soldier was last seen at Weeton Camp on Singleton Road at shortly before midnight on Tuesday July 3, after completing guard duty.

The body of the young soldier, who studied at Blackpool and the Fylde College, was found following searches in a wooded area on the Weeton Camp site.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination will take place. A file has been passed to the coroner.

Friends and family were left reeling by the news his body had been discovered.

His partner and mother of his son Melissa Kitt posted on Facebook: “Devastation just doesn’t cut it. I’m absolutely heartbroken beyond belief.

“You were my entire world, my boyfriend for so long and we shared so many memories together with our precious little boy.

“He thinks the world of you and I promise you now you will continue to live on in him. We will talk about your and look at pictures every single day.

“Sleep tight my beautiful boy, until we meet again.”

Schooldays pal Ben Thomas said: “I have so many funny memories and laughs in and out of school with you, mate. So sad and the last thing anyone expected.”

Another fellow pupil at Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College, Vikki Louise, added: “He was so kind to me when many others weren’t. He probably wouldn’t have remembered, but I do. What a loss to the world. I am so sorry.”

Another poignant message simply said: “RIP sweetheart. Duty done.”

An appeal on social media after Jordan was reported missing was shared hundreds of times by comrades in the 2nd Battalion of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment.
