Earliest pupils wanted to celebrate diamond days
Ansdell Secondary Modern School, now Lytham St Annes Technology and Performing Arts College, the biggest school in Fylde, opened its doors on September 8, 1955 under headmaster Mr A H Hall.
To celebrate the big date, ex-students Gillian Freestone, nee Teakle, and Margaret Quigley, nee Melling, have booked the school’s main hall for a get-together on Saturday, September 5 – and want to hear from any students who were there between 1955 and 1960.

“It will be an opportunity to renew old relationships and remember those formative years, with some familiar faces and no doubt lots of reminiscences and laughs.
“As numbers are limited, we felt attendance should be restricted to those people who started at the school in the first five years but dependent on the response it might be opened up to subsequent years.”
