Alone in the middle of Preston New Road in Marton on Friday night, Grace Manley was standing by her written-off Seat Ibiza scared and not knowing what to do.

In her first crash since passing her test 12 months ago, Grace was overwhelmed when two strangers came out of the blue and comforted her while she waited more than an hour for the ambulance to arrive.

“My car was being taken away by police and I was told the ambulance was on its way.

“I didn’t see where they came from but two girls came running over and were so nice to me, standing with me for over an hour waiting for the ambulance to take me to hospital.”

The collision with a Fiat Punto took place at around 7.20pm near the Toby Carvery restaurant and saw Grace taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital at around 8.30pm.

Grace suffered minor head and back injuries and said: “I feel lucky to be alive.”

And now she is appealing for help to track down the two women who she never saw again after getting into the ambulance.

She said: “They didn’t know me and just must have seen the crash but I don’t know what I would have done without them.

“They looked similar in appearance like they could be sisters and were in their mid-20s with brown hair and about my height which is 5ft 2in.

“It would be great if I could track them down and thank them because everyone else was just driving around me or taking pictures.

“They even offered to come with me in the ambulance and I just want to find them to let them know how much I appreciated what they did for me.”
