Down to the final talented 12

Up for grabs for the winner is a dream spot on the bill of Lytham Proms in August, which features stars such as Sir Tom Jones, Michael Ball, Lesley Garrett and a host of top chart acts from the 80s and 90s.

Taking their place in the final are:

St Annes singer Jane Fraser, who has recently appeared on BBC TV’s The Voice;

Grace Lily Robson, a 14-year-old singer from St Annes, who recently featured in the title role of a production of Thoroughly Modern Millie at Lowther;

Jade Leigh, a 17-year-old singer from St Annes;

James Edgar, a 24-year-old singer/guitarist from Lytham;

Moonshadow, a teenage four-piece band from St Annes;

Thomas Pawson, a 17-year-old pianist from St Annes;

Cinzia Lanza, a 29-year-old classical singer from Squires Gate;

Stephen Barnes, a 24-year-old singer/guitarist from Bispham;

Sophie Melville, a 12-year-old singer from South Shore;

Ella Coleman, a 20-year-old vocalist from Stalmine;

Michaela Masterton, a 23-year-old singer from Marton;

The Sara Creaney Band from Longton, near Preston.

The finalists emerged from a field of some 30 hopefuls at auditions held in St Annes last month and are hoping to follow in the footsteps of St Annes singer Hana Joy, who won the competition last year and went on to support Rita Ora at the Proms.

The previous year, singer-songwriter Kurtis Reid, also from St Annes, was the winner and supported Olly Murs, and Kurtis is among a line-up of judges at this year’s final, which also includes business entrepreneur Kirsty Henshaw. Miss Fylde Coast Jenna Howard will be a guest at the final.

The competition, now in its sixth year, is organised by Cuffe and Taylor Management, promoters of Lytham Proms, and proceeds from the event will go to the Brian House Hospice.

It starts at 7pm on Sunday, with each act performing two numbers, and tickets cost £10. Details from (01253) 794221.
