Former Scout leader Peter Collins attended the event with a group of Scouts and Cubs.

A sum of £200 was raised towards the London trip.

Sheila Wrench, secretary of the Grange Park Open Door Project, said: “ It was a delight to organise this event to help our local community.

“We feel that the scout groups in this area are very important because it offers children something constructive to do and teaches them about hard work and respecting people.

“Also a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped make all the food for the event and also set up the bingo and all the other games people took part in. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

Grange Park Open Door Project hosts a load of events throughout the year raising money for several different causes to help the local community.
