Police were called to a house on Langdale Road at 6.10am today to reports of a break-in.
Car keys, laptops, an iPad and a small amount of cash had been stolen, along with a  Nissan NV200 van from ‘Walkies’ dog walking and pet sitting service and a family car belonging to a Walkies staff member.
Walkies owner Wendy Ashworth has now appealed for anyone who has seen the van, which bears the Walkies logo, to come forward.
She said: “I have had to call in help today because we have four members of staff and only two vehicles. We are going to struggle without it.
“Our thought is that if someone recognises the van we’ll be able to find the people who have done this.”
