Dementia patients enjoy a sing-a-long

People suffering from dementia got a chance to sing-a-long with some of their favourite songs at an event hosted by a doctor's surgery.

And it was the second time Holland House GP practice in Lytham had organised such an event.

The event was compered by Anne Nolan, from the Nolan Sisters, who also sang.

As in previous events Dr Nick Lowe officially closed the show and shared his personal reflections of the evening, before joining the band on ukulele.

More than 300 people of all ages enjoyed the evening.

The evening was superbly supported by volunteers from Holland House GP Practice; local people; Friends of Lowther and the Alzheimer’s Society.

During the event there was a short demonstration by Judi Blakemore of Singing for the Brain which is a service provided by the Alzheimer’s
society for those living with dementia.

One lady said “Congratulations on a wonderful evening. It was great fun, I love a singalong.
