Delight at opening of banking hub's permanent base in Poulton town centre
“The new hub protects access to these essential services for those who need them most”
Poulton’s new banking hub has opened in the town’s Teanlowe Centre.
Fylde MP Andrew Snowden, whose constituency includes Poulton, cut the ribbon at what were previously two vacant units and urged people to support.

“It is wonderful to have this facility in its permanent home,” said Mr Snowden.
“After saving the Post Office just down the road too, this means people can once again do their banking and use the Post Office right in the heart of town. Please use it. These places only survive if we do.”
The MP was accompanied by Wyre councillor for Hardhorn with Highcross, Roger Berry, who said he was proud and delighted at the opening of the new hub.
“It was a blow when we lost the banks and at one stage, it was feared we might lose the Post Office, too, but now we have both of these fantastic amenities in the heart of town and it’s fantastic,” said Cllr Berry. “It’s a real boost for the centre of this lovely town.”
The hub, delivered by Cash Access UK, features a counter service for everyday transactions and private spaces for customers to speak with representatives from different major banks, on respective different days of the week.

Since last October, the banking hub has been temporarily operating out of Poulton Post Office, just outside the Teanlowe Centre.
The Poulton hub follows the opening of a permanent one in Kirkham and the prospect of a similar opening this summer in St Annes, where a temporary one is currently in place.
Meanwhile, Lorraine Beavers is pressing for one in Cleveleys once the last bank there, the Halifax, closes its doors for good on October 1.
A permanent banking hub in Fleetwood opened in premises in Lord Street last autumn.
Mr Snowden added: “While digital banking continues to expand, the reality is that many in our area, especially the older generation and local small businesses, still rely heavily on cash and face-to-face banking.
“The new banking hub in Poulton, as with others such have opened, protects access to these essential services for those who need them most.”
