Members of the public, forces veterans and VIPs got together to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War

They gathered on the Fylde coast for a commemoration despite coronavirus which caused the cancelling of many of the big VE Day eventa planned earlier in the year.

Liz Clayton, one of the standard bearers and part of the team which maintains the arboretum, said: “It was a short but very moving service. We could only have 30 people there for social distancing reasons but there were many more standing back by the Changi Gate, who could see everything.
