'Customers told me they needed this' - diverse new Pound Plus shop opens in Cleveleys
A new discount outlet Pound Plus, has opened in Cleveleys which launched on November 3. The shop promises value for locals with a wide selection of budget-friendly goods as well as essentials.
Cleveleys has welcomed a new addition to its high street with the opening of Pound Plus, a multi‑price discount shop that officially opened its doors on November 3.
Located in the heart of Cleveleys at 74 Victoria road West, Thornton, Blackpool - Pound Plus aims to serve the local community by combining bargain‑basement pricing with a wider range of everyday goods.

The owner of Pound Plus said: “Our family already runs several shops in other areas and this is my first shop as director.
“When I first visited Cleveleys to view this property, I was confident it would do well.
“Since opening, many customers have told me they really needed a shop like this here, and some have even thanked me for bringing it to Cleveleys.”
While many “pound stores” stick strictly to £1 pricing, Pound Plus’s name suggests a flexible model, allowing it to stock items priced above a single pound - potentially increasing its appeal to shoppers looking for value across a broader product range.
The launch comes during a time of increased demand for value retail, particularly on high streets facing economic pressures.
For Cleveleys residents, the arrival of Pound Plus may fill a gap in the market, offering a one-stop place for everything from household essentials to seasonal items at competitive prices.
The shop’s opening adds to Cleveleys’ evolving retail landscape. While the town already hosts a well-known Poundland branch at 75 Victoria Road West, the new Pound Plus store offers a distinct shopping proposition, potentially drawing a different customer base.
Local shoppers are welcoming the newcomer, saying that the store gives them more choice at low cost.
Residents now have a new place to shop affordably and the high street has another reason to draw footfall.
