Witnesses sought after hit-and-run which left teen with broken arm, leg, back, and shoulder

Witnesses are being sought for an accident that left a teenager biker with multiple broken bones.

The 18-year-old, from Weeton, broke his shoulder, upper arm, forearm, leg, and back after his Yamaha motorbike collided with a blue Ford Fiesta, which then drove off, on a bend on Lawsons Road at around 5.40pm on Wednesday..

A 37-year-old man from Blackpool was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed until February 10 while officers carry out further inquiries.

Sgt Finn Quainton, from Lancashire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a young man in hospital with serious injuries and we would appealto anybody with information about it to contact us as soon as possible.

“Maybe you saw either the car or the motorbike in the moments before the collision, or maybe you’ve heard someone talking about it since.

“Whatever you know or saw, please get in touch.”

The teen was initially reported to be 17 and taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
