Phillip Ronald Thompson, 44, was initially jailed in 1994 for rape. Since his release from prison he was made subject to notification requirements.

One of these was to register his address every seven days. He has failed to do so and is now wanted for breaching those requirements.

DC Rebecca Herbert, of Blackpool Police, said: “Thompson is wanted for breaching his notification requirements and our enquiries are ongoing to find him.

“If anybody has seen him or has information as to his whereabouts I would ask that they get in touch with us as soon as possible. Similarly we would appeal to Thompson, if he sees his appeal, to make contact with us immediately.”

Thompson is from Blackpool but also has links to Northamptonshire and Gwent.

He is described as white, 5ft 8ins, of medium build. He has a tattoo on the left side of his neck saying ‘Tommo’ and one on his upper right arm of an angel, among others.
