Wanted man arrested after violent assaults in Fleetwood

A 32-year-old man has been arrested following a series of violent assaults in Fleetwood.

Craig Johnston, originally from Liverpool but living in Fleetwood, was arrested in Blackpool on Sunday (October 18).

On September 30, Lancashire Police circulated a wanted appeal for Mr Johnson as part of their investigation into three assaults reported in August and September.

This morning (Monday, October 19), the force said Johnston had been arrested in connection with "several assaults" and a "threatening phone call".

He remains in custody.

A police spokesman said: "Further to our earlier appeals, Craig Johnston, 32, wanted in connection with several assaults, was arrested yesterday (Sunday, October 18) by police in the Blackpool area.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals to find him."
