Two men and a 15-year-old boy have been remanded in custody after police found more than 1,000 cannabis plants at an industrial unit in Bispham.

Two men in their 30s and a teenage boy have been remanded in custody following a police raid at an industrial unit near Crossley's Bridge in Bispham.

Police found 1,000 plants reaching over 5ft within the unit with an estimated street value of £1m once harvested.

Cuong Kim Deng, 34, Son Van Nguyen, 33, and a 15-year old boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Brett Chappel, representing Deng, said his client had been a victim of modern slavery.

Blackpool Magistrates' Court heard proceedings via an interpreter as all three only speak their native language Vietnamese.

They will next appear at Preston Crown Court on March 11.
