Officers gave chase onto Dock Road, where the suspected stolen car was used to ram a patrol car and drive off from the scene.

Police attended the scene and two people were apprehended after a short search.

A 29-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, both of no fixed address, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and are in custody.
