TV found smashed in garden by police

Police were greeted by the sight of a television in a garden after attending a 999 call in North Shore, Blackpool magistrates heard.

Christopher Hogg had thrown it into the garden of a Baldwin Grove property on August 24 and had also pulled the oven out of it mountings, heaved a large fridge on its side and pulled off a work surface in the kitchen.

Hogg, 23, of St Albans Road, St Annes, pleaded guilty to two offences of causing damage and abstracting electricity.

Hogg was sentenced to a 12-month community order with up to 50 days’ rehabilitation, to be supervised by the probation service, ordered to do 100 hours’ unpaid work for the community, fined £25 with £85 costs and told to pay a £150 court charge plus £60 victims’ surcharge.
