Trial for St Annes supermarket raid

Four people are due in court accused of offences in connection with a raid at a St Annes supermarket.

David Rainback, 27, and Michelle Hookway, 30, both of Pomona Crescent, Salford, and Lee Hookway, 36, and Scott McCaffery, 31, both of HMP Kirkham, are set to begin standing trial at Preston Crown Court on Thursday following the raid at Sainsbury’s supermarket on Monday, September 16.

All four defendants are suspected of one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Both Lee Hookway and McCaffery are also suspected of one count of robbery.

The four are alleged to have conspired to commit robbery together.

Lee Hookway and McCaffery also alleged to have approached a security van outside Sainsbury’s in St Andrews Road North, St Annes, on September 16, threatened the guards with a knife.
