Three people arrested in Blackpool over catalytic converter thefts across Fylde coast

Arrests have been made in Blackpool over the alleged thefts of vehicle catalytic converters.

Blackpool Police arrested three people yesterday after being found with the car parts, which are being increasingly stolen due to their scrap value.

A spokesman for Lancs Police Tac Ops said: “We currently have 3 people in custody at Blackpool for theft of catalytic converters in the Fylde Coast Area.

“They claim they are theirs. Has your catalytic converter vanished overnight? Call 101 and quote the log number LCC-20201119-0024. PC Matt Burn (2961) is the officer dealing.”

Located in a box on the exhaust pipe under a car, catalytic converters contain precious metals and can be worth hundreds of pounds in scrap value.
